*If placing birdhouse on a post, I can replace hanging spire with a dowel like on the Grand Pagoda bird feeder or not place the spire on the birdhouse at all. *To further protect the appearance and to ensure maximum longevity of your item, I recommend applying Varathane's Ultimate Outdoor Spar Urethane Water Based Sealant to any part of your product exposed to the elements. I prefer using a foam brush to apply the sealant. Please use the water-based version as this is safe for the birds.
